This report has 5 pages of text, followed by 14 pages of tables (pp. 6-19), 1 folding table, and a large folding lithographed"Map of the Gold Fields of Otago"with the gold fields shown in gold colour. This same map has been reproduced as Plate 131 in Maling's"Historic Charts&Maps of New Zealand"(1996). Map dimensions: c. 460 x 435mm. There is a 1"tear in one corner of the map. Also includes another gold-related Council Paper titled"Report by John Millar, F.S.A., on Gold Fields Reservoirs (4 pages + 2 folding plates, the first plate is a colour map titled"Map of the'Tuapeka Basin', Field Sketch of Proposed Site of Reservoir", with water areas coloured in blue. Also of interest in this volume is"Surveyor Wright's Report on the Martins Bay Expedition"(4 pages) -"The climb was up a long spur, and for half the distance we followed a well-beaten track, which we kept on for some time before we could ascertain the cause of it. We eventually found the feathers and other marks of the Kakapo, which led us to infer that it was the trail of that bird we were following."The subjects of the Select Comittee reports include the Botanical Gardens; Bush Reserves; the College; Robert Wilkins'Petition, and Wakitipu Runs.
