An opportunity has arisen for a Leading Hand/Foreman with an established contractor who have a proven track record in Christchurch. This family run business are looking for individuals who wish to part of their family run and experienced construction team. With an attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship, this business has been built on experience and a desire to achieve the highest standards in the delivery of quality projects.
With a solid order book in the commercial sector this business undertake projects in new build, restoration and strengthening for offices, industrial, retail, education and leisure projects. They will often work on high specification schemes with an architectural input. Project values range from $400,000 to $3 million and will be undertaken as both main contractor and contractor.
To be considered for the role of Leading Hand/Foreman, you will need to have a trade carpentry background, will have completed an apprenticeship or formal qualification. You will be able to demonstrate comprehensive experience in the commercial sector as a Carpenter and Leading Hand. You will have a solid understanding of NZ building codes and construction methods and have lead a team of 4-6 carpenters on previous projects. You will have good communication skills, have good computer skills, be able to demonstrate leadership and team ethic and know how to drive a project forward and keep a team motivated.
